Happy Thanksgiving

We all enjoyed our Thanksgiving turkey, even the turkeys that roamed the yard unaware.  They were very thankful that we got ours from the store

 

It's Pumpkin season again

I decided to start the new Autumn off with a new tradition.  I made my first ever Pumpkin Soup.  Since I have never even tasted it, I didn't know what to expect.  I added homemade croutons since everything is better with buttered toast. ( not necessarily)  I was pleasantly surprised!  I ate far more than I had planned since the rest of my family thought I was nuts for eating pumpkin in something that wasn't meant to be sweet.
It did help to have a pot of Mustard greens and cornbread on the stove too.

This is actually my new hobby.  It's like a fun challenge.  I'm not very good right now, but it's like a fun challenge.  I look forward to next time!!

i found this picture in an old Home Ec. book from the early 40's.  It has everything I love, camper, food and it's vintage.  What a great find!!

home cooking

mmmmmmm!  After watching so many good recipes in blogland, I have started cooking more from scratch.  I did when Chance was a little fella, but now it's just me and DH so I've slacked off.  Why?  I guess I'm a little lazy or maybe ...... yeas lazy is the right answer.  

Well, my roast was delish, no carrots because DH hates carrots and I didn't have any on hand.  So peas and fresh mashed potatoes were next.  Does anyone really like instant?

I forgot how much I really do like to cook.

Am I the only one who does this?

I can't stand to see my washer and dryer dirty.  Their purpose is to clean so why do some of us let them get so dusty?  I try to wipe mine down at least once a week, but usually find myself wiping my washer down every time I open it.  hmmmmm..... maybe I need to find something to do with my spare time.
