Do you like to read?

Since I have so much spare time, NOT, I try to keep a book around, just in case.  Sometimes if I time my moments just right, it happens.  I get a few minutes before I fall asleep to read and relax.  Do any of you like to read?  What do you enjoy?  I'm not into the romance stuff, like most women I know.  Usually, a light historical fiction about the pioneer women that we came from encourages me.

  1. I love to read, too, mostly for education, but when I want a good 'escape' I love the Mitford Series by Jan Karon. I'm not much into the romance novels, but I do like Francine Rivers~my favorite of hers is Redeeming Love, it's a sweet romantic story...

  2. Reading is one of my passions! I enjoy mysteries by the likes of Agatha Christie, Dorothy L. Sayers, Laura Childs, and Carola Dunn. I also read a lot of memoirs, biographies, and autobiographies, though I don't care for those about the "stars" of today. I prefer those from the "golden age" of Hollywood, and historical figures. Jane Austen is another favorite. Another thing I enjoy are art books --- books about collage, mixed media, etc.

  3. I LOVED the Mitford Series about Father Tim. I didn't like the last one - but her latest one is good - I am in the beginning of reading it now.

If you like pioneerig you need to read Jannette Oke. While her Love Comes Softly is a series and is all about one married couple - their pioneer courage and the hardships they faced in those years long ago - it's just an outstanding Christian Women's series.

If you are interested, let me know - I have the whole series and can mail them to you if you want to read them.

    HAGE! Karen :)
